About Margot Ellis
Passionate about shaping Australia’s space future, I am dedicated to ensuring every Australian can harness the benefits of space—today and for generations ahead.
As Space Governance Research Officer at UNSW Canberra, I blend legal expertise with the storytelling skills of a seasoned journalist to help craft regulatory solutions for emerging space technologies and laws.
My decade-long career as a rural reporter and then for ABC Landline in Tasmania has honed my ability to uncover complex issues and communicate them with clarity and impact.
I am currently completing a Juris Doctor at the Australian National University with a specialisation in International Law, and hold a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Technology Sydney.
My work is driven by curiosity and strategic thinking.
